Mosaic Room

What is the Mosaic Room?

The purpose of the Mosaic Room is to support students’ success by:

  1. providing a quiet work space when the student needs a change of venue for successful learning.
  2. providing short term immediate intervention to diffuse and de-escalate behaviour that is
interfering with the students’ learning and the learning environment in the classroom.
  3. providing a space to “fix” problems encountered by poor choices, reinforcing skills and strategies
around  respectful, safe, responsible and cooperative behaviours.
  4.  providing a quiet space for students to write make-up tests, catch up on homework, and/or work in
    small groups.

The Mosaic room is staffed by an educational assistant trained in behaviour management during morning and lunch recesses.
